Fees, Funding and Cost Explained

Funding

If you are looking for information about Bromley nursery funding, our setting is pleased to offer government-funded early education places for eligible children.

As a Bromley-based nursery, we deliver funded childcare places in line with guidance from the London Borough of Bromley and the Department for Education.

Government funding helps support children’s early learning while assisting families with childcare costs. Below you will find everything you need to know about nursery funding in Bromley.

15 Hours Universal Funding (3 & 4-Year-Olds)

All children are entitled to 15 hours of universal nursery funding from the term after their third birthday.

This means funding begins:

  • 1 September (Autumn Term) – for children turning three between 1 April – 31 August

  • 1 January (Spring Term) – for children turning three between 1 September – 31 December

  • 1 April (Summer Term) – for children turning three between 1 January – 31 March

The 15 funded hours are:

  • Available for 38 weeks per year (term time), or

  • Can be stretched across more weeks depending on your childcare pattern.

You can read more about 15 hours universal funding on the UK Government website:

30 Hours Extended Funding (Eligible Working Families)

Eligible working parents may apply for 30 hours of funded childcare in Bromley for 3 and 4-year-olds.

To access 30 hours funding:

  • Apply through the Government Childcare Service

  • Provide a valid eligibility code

  • Reconfirm your code every three months

Apply here:

We will check eligibility with the local authority before funding is applied to your child’s place.

2-Year-Old Funding in Bromley

Some families may be eligible for funded places for 2-year-olds, depending on household income or circumstances.

You can check eligibility via the London Borough of Bromley website:

(Parents can search “2 year old funding” on the Bromley Council site.)

We are also happy to support families with this process.

Why We Ask for a Birth Certificate

When accessing Bromley nursery funding, we are required to confirm your child’s identity and date of birth.

This is why, upon registration, we request:

  • A copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport

This ensures:

  • Funding is claimed from the correct term

  • Your child meets the age eligibility criteria

  • We remain compliant with local authority funding regulations

Why Parents Must Sign a Funding Declaration Form

Before funding can be claimed, parents must complete and sign a funding declaration form.

This form:

  • Confirms how many funded hours your child is accessing

  • Declares whether funding is being claimed at another setting

  • Allows us to submit accurate claims to the local authority

  • Ensures compliance with Bromley funding requirements

Funding cannot be claimed without a signed declaration form.
