Our Routine at Lilly Brook Preschool

Breakfast time
08:30 - 09:00
For breakfast we have a selection of cereals / fruit and toasted treats dependant on children's choice. The children select and serve with close supervision and morning discussion time as staff and children eat together.

Welcome Children
09:00 - 09:20
Children are welcomed in. Children find their name stone and vote for their end of morning story as well as hang coats up on named pegs. They place their drink bottle on the drinks tray and staff check the lunchtime children have their lunch. Children are able to place their picture on the emotion board to express how they are feeling.

Morning Welcome Time
09:20 - 09:30
Morning Welcome includes singing Hello to start our day and an introduction to what day it is , month and year as well as weather. We also introduce what activities we will be doing during the day.

Focus Time
09:30 - 10:30
In Focus Time we explore a concept through fun activities from counting games, sounds and letters activities or singing new rhymes. There is soo much fun to have learning new skills developing our listening and attention skills.

Snack Time
10:30 - 10:45
With a balanced variety. Children firstly wash their hands with staff supporting them. Once their hands are washed they collect a washing hand token to exchange for a plate on the other side at the serving station. The children serve themselves with a supervising adult with tongs to develop their motor skills. The children sit at tables and share a peer dining experience poring themselves a drink from small jugs to teach independence.

Craft
10:50 - 11:50
Exploring adult supported crafts learning new skills with combining marks and media.

Outside Play
10:50 - 11:50
Free flow access to the outside play area or walks on the field we make the best use of the natural play spaces we have access to.

Elderly care home visit
10:50 - 11:50
Once a week we visit the care home nearby and complete activities with the residents including music, games and art.

A time to choose , spend time with keyworkers and quality interactions.

End of morning story time
11:50 - 12:00
The story chosen in the morning is announced. The children count the votes together and read the winning story before singing goodbye to the morning children.

Home Time
12:00
For children who attend morning only.
Children attending sessions say goodbye to peers after the end of morning Storytime.
They collect their bags and artwork then go in to the garden ready to go home. Meanwhile children staying for lunch will go and wash their hands ready for lunch.

Lunch Time
12:00 - 12:30
During lunch, children join adults to eat their packed meals together. This shared time provides an opportunity for conversation, allowing everyone to discuss topics that interest them in a relaxed and supportive setting.

Free flow between the inside and outside activities/ nature walks on the field

Time for 15:00 children to leave and remainder children to enjoy golden time.
